In my travels both in and out of the Navy, I felt pulled to work in which I was able to help anyone in crisis. When I left the Navy I became involved with a local volunteer rescue squad and fire department and found that work so satisfying that it was one of the major factors in my changing from a major at NCSU in Nuclear Engineering to UNC in Nursing. That change resulted in an often challenging but incredibly rewarding field, but my life has taken turns that have had yet another turn in the road leading me on to yet another change.
